ANANAS Guided Young Designers

As Ananas, we participated in the Portfolio Evaluation event held within the scope of the ID 3306 Portfolio Design course held at Yaşar University. The event was enriched with the participation of guest groups from different sectors such as corporate companies, startups and independent brands. Professionals from these various sectors provided valuable information and important details to young designers so that they can make more conscious and strategic decisions in their career journeys. The event was a guide for the career development of the participants and aimed to provide a perspective on the design world through the sharing of sectoral knowledge and experience.

Purpose and Content of the Event

The main purpose of the Portfolio Evaluation event is to help students make a solid start in their careers by evaluating their design portfolios from a professional perspective. The corporate, startup and independent brands that participated in this event provided a broad perspective to young designers. The corporate representatives provided comprehensive information about the design expectations of large companies, recruitment processes and the challenges encountered in the professional world. In particular, they focused on topics such as the role of design in large-scale projects, the importance of teamwork and the effective management of business processes. The startup representatives shared their more flexible and innovative approaches and provided information about the dynamics and opportunities offered by working in small-scale companies with rapid growth potential. They emphasized how the entrepreneurial spirit is supported, how innovative ideas are implemented and the flexibility and responsibilities that come with working in small teams. The independent brands provided important information about the advantages and challenges of freelancing, and touched on issues such as customer relationship management, independent project execution and time management encountered during the independent work process. This diversity helped the students better understand different career paths and choose the most suitable one for them. The different perspectives offered by each representative group enabled students to take more conscious and confident steps when planning their careers.

As ANANAS, we took part in this event and guided young designers and shared in detail the important points to consider during the portfolio preparation process, how to create an effective portfolio, how the other party evaluates the portfolio, and the best portfolio evaluation tips.

Thanks to the contributions of guests from different sectors and the guidance of ANANAS, students had the opportunity to take more conscious and prepared steps in their career journeys.
