Rami Library Receives an Award at IDA DESIGN AWARDS 2023!

Located within Istanbul's largest library campus, the Rami Children's Library and playground received the IDA Bronze Award in the educational area design category at the IDA Design Awards with its renovation project designed and produced by Ananas x Budero collaboration.

Rami Library play area includes products designed with a calm and simple aesthetic to complement the architectural style and ambiance of the library. Rami Library offers a special play area for children, focusing not only on the development of books but also on the development of young minds. Play areas consist of modules that stimulate physical and cognitive development. Play area elements are strategically placed on the same level with seamless transitions and separate sections for two user groups aged 2-8. Special attention was paid to minimizing noise and ensuring that play stations are suitable for the library environment.

Playground

The color palette used in the Rami Library's playground is compatible with other areas in the library, allowing children to have an energetic and fun experience. Natural colors and materials were preferred throughout the products. The play stations were shaped with contemporary design principles and were adapted to the general atmosphere of the library. The playground includes physical ability stations, bookshelves and magnet walls, rope climbing lofts and barriers, table seating and activity units, a slide area, an isolated area and a parental control point.

User Groups

The playground is designed to target two different user groups between the ages of 2 and 8. In this way, children can interact with activities appropriate to their age and development level. Play stations are strategically placed with fun and educational features for each age group.

Particular attention was paid to minimizing noise and ensuring that the play stations were suitable for the library environment. It was important to ensure that children had a fun time while maintaining the calmness of the library environment. Sound insulation and acoustic arrangements ensure that the play area offers a noise-free experience.
